Khaki Brown
£0.00
Price outside UK: £0
Kansai Yamamoto unisex, embroidered, layered jacket in natural linen colour. Totally awesome piece bought in Tokyo directly after the catwalk show in 1973 and only ever worn on the catwalk in Tokyo, has been in our archive collection ever since that time. The model number: 1WJ-4, Made in Japan, Yamamoto Kansai Co Ltd. I have looked very carefully over the garment and can find NO damage or markings other than a slight water staining on the left shoulder, it appears to be, after over 50 years, in almost perfect condition. The base garment is a long shirt, with soft collar and 6 metal popper fastening. 2 angled zip pockets with 2 large rivets at each end of the zip. A fabric belt enclosed on the rear panel. The arms are tapering down to a small, double layered cuff, with a long zip and rivet detail at each cuff, concertina fabric inset behind each cuff zip. There are shoulder pads inside each shoulder lightly stitched at 3 positions.
On the right side there is a double layered panel extending from the shoulder to below the hem of the base jacket. On this panel there is the most amazing faux-fur and embroidered wolf design, with red mouth and golden eyes, This extends back over the shoulder and onto the rear panel, STUNNING! At the rear behind the collar there is a triangular, double layered tab with brass ring for hanging the jacket and 2 metal popper fastening to which the Wolf panel can be pulled over the shoulder and attached.
A very rare and important piece from the start of the career of this very important and influential designer.
