NUDE:Masahiko Maruyama
Designer Masahiko Maruyama, a graduate of the ‘Vantan Design Institute’ Tokyo, was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in 1968. After Graduation he accumulated experience with various clothing brands until 1996, when he established the ’NUDE: Masahiko Maruyama’ (Nude:MM) collection. Initially specialising in clothing for women Masahiko created his first collection for men in the Autumn/Winter of 2002 in Japan.
Masahiko exhibited his women’s collection for the first time overseas at the 2007 ‘Rendez-Vous FEMME’ in Paris. His men's collection was exhibited overseas for the first time at the 2008-2009 Autumn Winter ’TRANOI HOMME’ exhibition in Paris. He continues to present his collections in Paris. With his superb cuts and innovative styling, he has gained a high reputation worldwide.
Masahiko Maruyama’s collection for men mixes soft elements with very strong imagery, constructive at the same time as retaining a feminine element, as such much of Nude:MM is genderless and ideally suited to both men and women. Texture and the feel of the materials used are vitally important in these collections, but without excessive or overplayed design, hence the name ’NUDE’. Using unique materials Masahiko Maruyama creates sleek designs with clear, yet relaxed, silhouettes. Nude:MM represents the very best of innovative and courageous Japanese clothing design. Stunning fabrics, tailored and sculptured into beautiful shapes. This collection is exemplary for genderless styling.
The Nude:MM collection for Spring Summer 2024 is as you would expect, strong, cutting-edge and extremely stylish.
