NUDE:Masahiko Maruyama
Designer Masahiko Maruyama, a graduate of the ‘Vantan Design Institute’ Tokyo, was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in 1968. After Graduation he accumulated experience with various clothing brands until 1996, when he established the ’NUDE: Masahiko Maruyama’ (Nude:MM) collection. Initially specialising in clothing for women Masahiko created his first collection for men in the Autumn/Winter of 2002 in Japan.
Masahiko exhibited his women’s collection for the first time overseas at the 2007 ‘Rendez-Vous FEMME’ in Paris. He continues to present his collections in Paris. With his superb cuts and innovative styling, he has gained a high reputation worldwide.
Masahiko Maruyama’s collections mix soft elements with very strong imagery, constructive at the same time as retaining a feminine element, as such much of Nude:MM is genderless and ideally suited to both women and men. The texture and feel of the materials are of great important in these collections, but without excessive or overplayed design, hence the name ’NUDE’. Using unique materials Masahiko Maruyama creates sleek designs with clear and relaxed, silhouettes. Nude:MM represents the very best of innovative and courageous Japanese clothing design.
